KEVIN BARUFFI TOASTS THE ROTARY CLUB OF MONZA BRIANZA
 
 

The Rotary Club of Monza Brianza in District 2042 in Italy (The Host Club of 2016 Inbound Exchange student Francesco Dell’olio). The President is Antonio Groppelli. The Club Meets on Thursday evenings at 8.00 pm at Saint George Premier Restaurant 7, Viale di Vedano, which is about half a kilometre from Monza race track. The Club has 3 Principal Objectives: 

  • The recovery and maintenance of the historical cultural values of the territory,
  • The search for a collaborative relationship with the local authorities and institutions aimed at the well-being of the community,
  • Attention to the social inclusion and cultural growth of young people.

Projects Undertaken:

  • Support of the construction of fire brigade barracks in nearby Vimercate,
  • Organization of Concerts at Municipal Library,
  • Involvement with Inner Wheel in organizing Forum on Drug Addiction,
  • Implementing Eye Screening of Children in nursery schools,
  • Initiating a project for the recovery of the Adda Locks, a series of locks opened in 1779 a part of The Adda Valley being considered for world heritage listing by Unesco.

VIC CAMP TOASTS THE ROTARY CLUB OF MIDHURST AND PETWORTH 

My toast is to the Rotary Club of Midhurst & Petworth in Sussex UK. I chose this Club to toast because in 1943 during World War 2 I was evacuated to this area of England from my home in London and in researching this toast it brought back many memories of my youth in war torn England. The Rotary Club of Midhurst & Petworth is in RI District 1145 which covers East and West Sussex. Formed in 1964 it has a membership of 32 men and women.The club meets on the 1st,3rd & 5th with partners on Monday evening at 6.45pm at Cowdrey Park Golf Club in Easebourne, Midhurst, Sussex and on the 2nd Monday at 6.45pm at the Grange Centre, Midhurst and the 4th Monday at less formal event at various locations.Their President for 2021/22 is Simon Flint. Amongst many of their normal Rotary programs they also run the following projects: 

  • Computers for Schools and Youth programs; 
  • Shelter Box; Group Study Exchange;  
  • Inner Wheel; 
  • Annual filling and planting of planter boxes to improve the look of the Town square; 
  • Assisting at the farmers market; 
  • Supplying Goodie bags of Christmas cheer to children in need; 
  • Volunteering for Covid vaccination clinics; Polio Plus program; 
  • Supporting the Rotary Club of Scottsburgh project in South Africa by contributing to a crèche and sewing group
