Every so often we receive a visit from a Ric Davies' close friend and long standing Rotarian, Les Woodland (the taller of the two). Les was good enough to step in with no notice to fill a gap left when our scheduled guest speaker was unable to attend.

Les's has been a Rotarian for twenty eight years and has enjoyed every moment especially the friendships and the fellowship which is integral to Club and Rotary life.

Les, started out in the business up North in WA before leaving to set up his own accounting and financial planning practice in Melbourne in 1983.  He joined the Rotary Club of Preston in 1989 and is a Past President. He's also a committed golfer with a respectable handicap and an active member of  the Australian Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians (AGFR). He spoke of the enduring friendships he's developed; the many championships that have been held by the Fellowship and its commitment to fourth Object of Rotary, that is: “The advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service”. For the golfers amongst us Les considered there was much to be gained from joining. Les is married with two daughters and four grand children. His strong attachment to WA includes his mother who lives in Victoria Park and (rather unfortunately) an undying commitment to the West Coast Eagles.......(but then nobody's perfect ED)
