President's Message

This is a "Catch up Chronicle" made possible now that the Editor has returned from gallivanting around interstate plus the a great deal of help from other contributors. It brings to a close a year in which we have shared both joy, sorrow and the camaraderie and friendship which binds us all.

We've used a different format for this edition to better accommodate the stories to be told of: the induction of Edwin (Eddie) Thong and Stephen (Steve) Genoni; our outbound exchange student Aashka Bhavsar; the good works of Read Write Now and the Esther Foundation both of which organisations we have supported; a very interesting visit to the refurbished Kent Street Weir; and our Christmas dinner at Bentley TAFE. In most cases we've managed to assemble a story with images, other than for our final BBQ at the Club on 18 December which was extremely well attended by members, their partners and friends and held inside to avoid the foul weather outside! It was a fitting way to finish the year before a well earned break.

I thank everyone involved in the running of our Club; look forward to seeing you all at the President's BBQ on 8 January 2018 at "Chez Henderson" and in the meantime, wish everyone a safe and prosperous NewYear.
